Mother's Day Flower

Hi there!  Just popping in quickly while Luis throws some food on the grill.  I've got a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge where I used the bottom row - Pink + Leaf/Leaves + Flower.  I used a Papertrey Ink leaf die in place of the circle on the sketch.  The flower is Altenew which I watercolored with Distress Inks nd I added some Stickles to the center.
That's it for tonight.  Hope you have a wonderful week!

ETA:  The lovely Sandie suggested I join in with the current challenge at Time Out - flowers with the optional twist of stamp kissing.  No kissing here but definitely a flower!  :)

Welcome to the World

Hi there!  I finally got around to tackling the latest Sketch for You to Try over at Reverse Confetti.  I pulled out the adorable onesie stamps again and stamped them in ombre colours.  The top half of each one is popped up with foam tape and the bottom half is adhered directly to the card.  The sentiment is from a different set and I thought a sparkly little garland would add to the celebration of a new arrival.  Of course I had to make one in blue as well and really should have made a neutral one too.  Maybe I'll get to that tomorrow...

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Blushing Bride, Basic Black) Stampin' Up, (Blue) Paperbilities, (Silver glitter) DCWV

Grumpy Birthday

It was my uncle's birthday on Tuesday so, since he's a fellow dog lover, I whipped up this card for him.  I think the look on this Gerda Steiner pooch's face represents pretty well how he feels about his birthday these days - he tolerates them but they certainly are not his favourite thing.  :)  I pulled out some more old Basic Grey papers for this card - this time Obscure.  Finally putting all the oldies but goodies to work.  I think I'll have to have a celebration if I ever totally use up a complete set of papers.
This card was inspired by the sketch at The Paper Players and the Animals these at Cupcake Inspirations.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

CASology #246

Welcome to Week 246 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I've made several variations of this card over the years but I'm really loving this one with the MFT sentiment and stitched arch die.  It almost looks like a snow globe except for the tree peeking over the top.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Brusho Flower & Pink Butterflies

Hi there!  I have two cards to share today.  First up is for The Flower Challenge's sketch challenge and I'm also playing along with the Showers and/or Flowers challenge at the Simon Says Wednesday challenge.  I sprinkled and spritzed some Brushos onto watercolor paper and then stamped the Winnie & Walter flower and leaves over the colours.  I fussy cut them and popped them up on foam tape over the strips of glitter tape, added a Hero Arts sentiment and some gems and was done!  I'm pleased with how this flower came out.  On my first attempt I used way too much powder and water and the colours were so dark that the flower didn't show up.  I really need to devote a bit more time to playing with these powders.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower from In Bloom: Addie's Garden) Winnie & Walter, (Sentiment from CL334) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko, (Jet Black Archival Ink) Ranger
Embossing Powder:  (Clear) Hero Arts
Brushos:  (Sunburst Lemon, Sea Green, Turquoise, Violet) Colourcraft
Tape:  (Black glitter tape) American Crafts
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card for the Time Out photo inspiration challenge.  I love this picture and the feeling of movement from those gorgeous pink butterflies.  I dug out some My Favourite Things and Memory Box butterflies and plenty of Rose Red paper and set to work die cutting.  I had intended on a much more random placement of the butterflies but before I knew it I ended up with this symmetrical pattern so I just went with it.  A few of the butterflies are layered and the central ones have gems.  I like how it's kind of CAS and busy all at the same time.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill, (Rose Red, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Scandinavian Prints) Neat & Tangled
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukeniko

Grad Hats

Another weekend has zoomed past and it's back to work tomorrow.  I had a little bit of crafty time today and made a card for Freshly Made Sketches.  I used my trusty Lawn Fawn grad caps in place of the hearts on the sketch along with a Papertrey Ink sentiment.  The pretty ombre paper is from Lil' Inker Designs and I thought it made a good sky background.  The hats are coloured with Copics and they and the sentiment are all popped up on foam tape.  Clean and simple just how I like it!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill, (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Dip Dyed Ombre 6x6) Lil' Inker Designs

CASology #245

Welcome to Week 245 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I wasn't thrilled with the first card I made this week.  It was fine but a little boring so I put my thinking cap back on and came up with growing hair.  As someone with really short hair this is something I deal with a lot and when I put off a haircut for too long I feel like this guy!  He really gives me a good giggle and I thought he'd be perfect for the challenge.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Rainbow, Unicorn & Flowers

Hi there!  I'm popping in with two cards today.  First up is for the My Favourite Things sketch challenge and the Cupcake Inspirations Mythical challenge.  The stamps, patterned paper and wonky stitched die are all MFT.  I love this unicorn set.  They are a little chubby and super cuddly looking!  I coloured the unicorn and rainbow with Copics and popped them both up on foam tape for some dimension.  There's also a healthy dose of Wink of Stella on the unicorn and rainbow.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Rose Red, Bashful Blue) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Rainbow stripes from Sweet Celebration 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (All from Magical Unicorns) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukeniko
Die:  (Wonky Stitched Rectangle) My Favourite Things, (Flag) Paper Smooches
Markers:  (R85, RV000, YR00, Y11, YG11, BG10, BV00, C1, C5) Copic
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

Next up is a card for three challenges - Curtain Call's photo inspiration, the Addicted to Stamps and More Make Your Mark challenge and the Spring word prompt at Inkspirational.  Doesn't get must springier than flowers and Mother's Day I'd say!  I Zig coloured some Simon Says Stamp flowers and put them in a subtly striped vellum jar from Paper Smooches.  The sentiment is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps and you'll probably see a lot of it since it's one of the few Mother's Day sentiments I have.  Also there's that MFT scallop frame popping up again...  :)

Umbrellas, Clouds & Rainbows

Hi there!  I've got cards for several challenges today.  First up is for the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge.  I was inspired by the grey day, the umbrella and the stripes although I went for rainbow stripes instead of black and white stripes.  I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches but I flipped it upside down.  This was actually my second attempt at the card. My first one used different papers.  Can't decide which one I prefer...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  (Rainbow stripes from Everyday Collection 6x6) Avery Elle, Grey stripes from Dots & Stripes 6x6) Echo Park, (Plaid from Perfectly Plaid) Lawn Fawn, (Grey dots from South of Market 6x6) Studio Calico
Stamps:  (All from Weather It) Avery Elle
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko
Die:  (Cloud border) Mama Elephant
Gems:  Recollections

Finally I have a card for the CAS-ual Fridays rainbow challenge.  How fabulous is that rainbow glitter tape?  Once I laid the tape I embossed the sentiment from Shenanigans to really make it pop and then I added a generous helping of gems for a bling-tactic celebration!

Elephant & Flowers

I was so relieved to wake up headache free after such a horrible day yesterday and since Luis was going to work on the yard I hit the Craft Cave.  The annual craft event at the Mason's Lodge is coming up next month so I'm working hard to build up some stock.  Thank goodness for challenges to get the mojo flowing!

This card is based on the design over at Freshly Made Sketches and I'm also entering it in the two patterned papers challenge at Seize the Birthday.  I love this elephant set from WPlus9 - they're so darn adorable!  I used a Mama Elephant cloud border die and some ancient Basic Grey papers - anyone remember Lime Rickey?  For some reason I have that collection in 6x6 AND 12x12 form.  I must have really loved it!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Limre Rickey 6x6) Basic Grey
Stamps:  (All from Unforgettable) WPlus9
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko
Die:  (Cloud border) Mama Elephant
Markers:  (C1) Copic
Other:  (Oyster Grey Nuvo Crystal Drops) Tonic

Next up is a card using the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches and the colours from The Colour Throwdown.  My coral colour looks a lot darker on screen than in real life which is kind of annoying but oh well.  The flower is from WPlus9 and the sentiment is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.  Also I finally got the MFT rectangle scallop edge frames and I love them!  I have a feeling they'll be appearing quite a bit...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Gumboil Green) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from Summer Blooms) WPlus9, (Sentiment from Mother Knows Best) Fresh Squeezed Stamps
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko, (Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Gumboil Green) Stampin' Up
Die:  (Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame) My Favourite Things
